Drink Beauty: A Beautiful Jewel You Can Drink

Combining Rock Candy and Lemon for a Unique Tea Experience

Drink Beauty is a combination of two separate elements commonly used with tea: rock candy and lemon slices. The designers aimed to enhance the visual appeal of these ingredients and bring them together in one package. Rock candy, a beautiful crystal made of sugar and water, is typically held to a small stick. In this design, the stick is replaced with a slice of dried frozen lemon, creating a drinkable jewel.

The process of making rock candies is relatively simple. Factories have large containers of water saturated with sugar, and wooden sticks are placed in them. Over time, crystals start to form on the sticks. The innovative aspect of Drink Beauty is the replacement of the inedible stick with slices of dried lemon. These lemon slices not only add beauty to the design but also provide a better taste and essential vitamins.

Drink Beauty is a luxury product, and only lemon slices with a diameter of approximately 2.5 centimeters are selected. After the crystals form, the total diameter of the product reaches around 4 centimeters. The overall thickness of the product is approximately 8 millimeters, although exact dimensions may vary due to the nature of the crystallization process.

To achieve the best result, the solution of water and sugar must be completely waveless, ensuring that the crystals appear symmetric and clear. The project was initiated as an industrial design in Iran on Monday, May 6, 2013.

Drink Beauty embodies the modern world's desire for beauty, efficiency, and environmental friendliness. By combining rock candy and lemon slices, the designers have created a unique and visually stunning product that enhances the tea-drinking experience. The design has been awarded the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Food, Beverage, and Culinary Arts category in 2016, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill.
